Cancun, Q.R. — -Two men were detained by the Federal Police at the Cancun International Airport as they were getting ready to board a flight to Monterrey.
The pair were arrested by the federal police after they were found carrying nearly 300,000 peso in cash.
The men, both of Mexican nationality, were identified as R.E.R. and I.G.M.M. and subject to routine inspection in the air terminal. The two men were found carrying 295,000 peso in cash along with two blank cheques from Banco Santander.
They did not legally claim the cash for traveling and were unable to prove its legal origin. Both were handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office in Cancún.
