Tulum, Q.R. — Two people inside a car that caught fire were able to escape without injuries. Firemen were called Monday when the man’s car began to smoke. Within minutes, the car caught fire and burned.
Firemen were not able to save the vehicle, however, they did arrive in time to extinguish flames before they spread to nearby trees.
The man had just left Tulum and was heading toward Playa del Carmen with his brother when the incident happened.
The owner of the vehicle was saddened by the loss of the car’s contents, which he said, was a load of Mahogany tree seeds worth about 45,000 peso.
