Puerto Morelos., Q.R. — After being tied up in paperwork for nearly a year, a donated firetruck has finally made its way to Puerto Morelos.
The donated truck came from Canada last year, but remained at the San Antonio, Texas border after experiencing custom problems. The firetruck was donated by a firehouse in Edmonton after the renewal of their own fleet.
The firetruck was driven from Edmonton (Alberta) and destined for Puerto Morelos, however, paperwork with customs personnel prevented the unit from entering the country. When word was received the vehicle was finally released for entry, three Canadian volunteers from Puerto Morelos went to the border where it was driven the balance of the way to its final destination.
The firetruck will be used around the municipality of Puerto Morelos.
