Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man who entered the home of a woman and killed her has been formally charged. According to a report by the the State Attorney General’s Office, Leonardo “L” has been charged in the murder of an unidentified Playa del Carmen woman.
The Quintana Roo FGE says that Leonardo “L” entered the woman’s Villas del Sol home through a window on the night of December 4, 2022. It was around 11:40 p.m. when he accessed her home hitting her on the head and then subsequently stabbing her to death.
The woman tried to escape through a front window of the house, but ultimately died due to her injuries. The judge has imposed the precautionary measure of informal preventive detention for a term of two years, or as long as the process lasts.
