Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A suspect has been arrested and formally charged in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of a Playa del Carmen man. According to information provided by the FGE of Quintana Roo, Kevin “R” is to remain in preventative detention during his trial for his alleged participation in the kidnapping and murder that took place in June of this year.
The now-deceased, whose identity has not been revealed, was discovered on June 13 of this year inside a private home in the Villas del Sol subdivision. Kevin “R”, along with others, allegedly kidnapped the man and tortured him.
The defendant, along with other subjects, kept the victim in captivity due to a fight between rival criminal groups. His trail is set to begin January 30, 2023.
