State bridges to undergo maintenance as part of federal project

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A total of 28 bridges along federal highways in Quintana Roo are set to undergo maintenance. The work will be carried out by the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) starting April of this year.

The bridges belong to the Federal Free Toll Network in the State of Quintana Roo and to carry out the work, the SCT has launched a National Public Tender number.

The bridges included in the tender for maintenance are junction kilometer 19 , Xul-Há right and left, Bellavista, Pedro A. Santos, Sorpresas, Nicolás Bravo Pedestrian, Ucúm right and left, Huay-Pix right and left, PIV Subteniente López right and left, PIV Insurgentes, Second Lieutenant López II PIV, Río Hondo International Bridge, CRIP and Río Hondo II.

Also, the Mérida-Cancún Highway Overpass I and II Access to the New Xcan Playa del Carmen Highway, José María Morelos Mayan Intercultural Pedestrian, Laguna del Ocho, Las Garcitas and the Vallehermoso bridge are on the list.

All listed bridges are to be maintained with cleaning of the road surface in the shoulder area, sidewalks and ridges, expansion joints, superstructure drains and substructure crowns, as well as concrete parapet painting, steel parapet cleaning, painting of steel parapet and concrete superstructure element.

The SICT project is set to begin April 15, 2023 with a completion date of 200 calendar days. The SICT has a goal to have a total of 60 overpasses maintained in 2023.
