Cancun, Q.R. — One body was found along with the skeletal remains of another during a random search over the weekend. As part of ongoing missing person searches, police scoured areas of Cancun in the north and the Mayan town of Cacao in the state’s south.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported the discovery of the bodies in the Tres Reyes residential area of Cancun. They were located by sniffer dogs.
During the Saturday search, police were accompanied by members of the State Commission for the Search for Persons.
It was in Cancun where dogs located one dead body wrapped in plastic and the skeletal remains of a second. Both were lifted and transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for identification.
Police also extended their weekend search operation in the south in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco. Searches for human remains were carried out in the town of Cacao, but without results.
