Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A man wanted for the rape of a Puerto Morelos girl has been officially charged after being arrested in Playa del Carmen. The State Attorney General’s Office reported on the capture of Jorge “A” who was picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant in the neighboring city.
According to the FGE, Jorge “A” has been accused of raping a girl who is a relative. The rape was reported to authorities by the girl’s mother after her daughter told her of the ongoing acts committed by the now-accused, which took place inside their home in the Inforvir neighborhood of Puerto Morelos.
Jorge “A” will remain in detention for the duration of his trial, which is scheduled to begin February 4.
