Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The seaside town of Puerto Morelos has officially started the 2022 summer vacation season. Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz gave the starting signal for the 2022 Summer Vacation Security Operation to guarantee the safety of tourists and residents of Puerto Morelos.
“We begin a period of great importance for our municipality in different aspects. On the one hand, the arrival of tourists grows exponentially with the logical economic income they generate, but at the same time, it becomes a season of greater demand for us as authority.
“It is our responsibility to generate strategies aimed at the protection and safety of both Porto Morelos residents and those who visit us,” she said Friday.
Additional security will be added for the summer season with elements of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), the National Guard and State and Municipal Public Security, among other instances, who Muñoz says, will maintain a permanent presence on beaches and tourist areas as well as in urban filters.
“I want to share with you that the C-5 will function as a communication link, in addition, members of the Green Angels, Firefighters, Civil Protection and the ambulance service will be given the task of reinforcing surveillance in service areas in order to provide a prompt and effective response to any incident,” added the mayor.
