Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police were sent on a foot chase Saturday after receiving reports of a naked man walking down a main avenue. Officers sent to respond to the citizen calls found the man stark naked walking a central median.
Officers were able to catch up with the fast-paced man, however, when attempting to intercept him, one officer was injured and knocked down after being elbowed in the mouth.
According to the police statement, “the man was wandering without clothes on Colosio Avenue at the height of 10th when they caught up with him to interrogate him, thinking that he had been assaulted, however, the foreigner reacted violently and elbowed a uniformed officer, injuring him in the mouth.”
The unidentified man, who is only confirmed to be non-Mexican, was eventually arrested.
