Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — An American man has been jailed after he was found in possession of narcotics. On Wednesday, the SSP of Solidaridad reported on the arrest of Joel “N” from Texas.
The 19-year-old was picked up by Playa del Carmen police from Fifth Avenue on the night of December 20. According to the Seguridad Pública y Tránsito Solidaridad (SSP), Joel “N” was arrested during a police foot patrol operation when he was marked positive for narcotics by a police dog.
When he realized he had been identified by the dog, he ran, but was intercepted by officers near 3rd Street just off Fifth Avenue. A review of his person revealed 23 packages of cocaine street products.
