Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Hundreds of police motorcycle units have been added to the fleet, says mayor Lili Campos. Campos reported on the expansion of the municipality’s police patrol units Thursday.
She said the municipality of Solidaridad now has 314 motorcycle units, up from the 20 that were available when she took over as mayor late last year. She also mentioned an increase in police filters around the municipality, stressing the importance of security.
“We have strengthened security with the addition of police filters. Now, there are filters at Cancun-Playa del Carmen access point, Tulum-Playa del Carmen and Valladolid-Playa del Carmen as well as one at Villas del Sol. “
She says “they are in place to guarantee a safe stay for visitors and locals,” adding that the filters were placed in ‘hot spots’ around the city.
