Over three dozen detained from illegal Cozumel party

Cozumel, Q.R. — More than three dozen people were detained from a Cozumel party Saturday after reports of armed men. In a news brief, police reported the arrests of 37, a dozen of whom were minors.

While weapons were not found on the premesis, police did find drugs and a dozen underage minors consuming alcoholic beverages.

The report of armed men was made to 911 services Saturday in reference to a private home on 65th Avenue in the Emiliano Zapata. Responding officers located more than three dozen people in the yard of the property.

While minors were detained for underage drinking, others were detained after police located marijuana and party bracelets, which were worn by partygoers since the hosts charged to access to the illegal event. In total, 25 adults and 12 minors were removed from the property.
