Cozumel, Q.R. — A man believed related to an attack against a Cozumel bar Saturday night has been arrested. Agents of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) took Julián “T” (aka El Chino) into custody late Wednesday night.
According to reports, Julián “T” turned himself in after police conducted a search of his home and issued a warrant for his arrest. He was wanted by island authorities after being caught on camera participating in a fight after he and two others were denied entry to the club.
The physical altercation involved three men who were denied access along with several of the bar’s staff. Shortly after the fight, someone fired five shots against the façade of the open club, injuring a 15 year old boy who was passing by.
According to the FGE, “first investigations indicate that on May 20 of this year, the defendant was denied entry to a bar in Cozumel for which reason he provoked a fight and left the place to later return aboard a motorcycle and shoot several times to the property.
“At that moment, a teenager was hit by one of the bullets, while Julián “T” fled the scene.”
