Chetumal, Q.R. — A new head of State Coordination of Civil Protection has been announced after the resignation of Adrián Martínez Ortega. On Thursday, by appointment by Governor Carlos Joaquín, Maestro Alfredo Suárez Camacho assumed the General Directorate of the State Civil Protection Coordination position.
Government Secretary Jorge Arturo Contreras Castillo, representing the State Executive, officially assigned the appointed position of Coordinación Estatal de Protección Civil to Alfredo Suárez.
Last week, Adrián Martínez Ortega, announced his resignation from Coordinación Estatal de Protección Civil after holding the job for more than five years.
“I am informing the people of Quintana Roo that I have made the decision to resign as of March 1 of this year from my position as general director of the state coordination of civil protection, a position that I have carried out with the highest of values,” he wrote.
Martínez Ortega left Civil Protection to pursue a career in politics.
