Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A former governor of Quintana Roo is under investigation for the irregular approval of five island transportation company concessions. The Quintana Roo State Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Corruption has laid charges against Roberto “B”, a former Quintana Roo governor, for irregular performance of public function.
The file corresponds to the irregular delivery of five public transport service concessions that he granted permission to improperly operate golf carts in the municipality of Islas Mujeres. The charges stem from concessions granted between 2015 and 2016.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, a judge ordered a new hearing to be held in the Judicial District of Chetumal against Roberto “B” for not complying with the requirements of the Traffic, Transportation and Exploitation of Roads and Highways in the State of Quintana Roo.
