Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver died instantly after he hit a parked van along the side of the Cancun-Playa del Carmen federal highway.
The accident happened Saturday when the driver of the motorcycle, who attempted to manuever around the vehicle, ended up hitting the parked van at high speed. The impact caused the van to overturn and the motorcycle driver to be thrown from his bike. The driver of the bike died instantly.
Inside the van, several were injured including one minor child. Police and ambulances arrived on scene to transfer the minor to hospital. The driver of the motorcycle has not been identified.
