Monterrey woman arrested for theft of Tulum car

Tulum, Q.R. — After the swift response by authorities, Tulum police were successful in arresting a woman who, moments before, had stolen a vehicle. The car was located using its GPS.

Police say the incident occurred early Tuesday morning when Emergency 911 received the 12:30 a.m. call that a vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a store located along Tulum Avenue.

The owner of the car said she ran inside the store, leaving the keys in the ignition. When she came out, her car was gone.

After making the emergency call, police were able to locate the stolen Nissan March, which they found in the Guerra de Castas subdivision. Inside the stolen car was a woman driver. Taken into custody was 28-year-old Esther N, from Monterrey.
