Chetumal, Q.R. — Authorities in Chetumal implemented a check stop Thursday in search of undocumented people. The check stops were set up in several areas of the city where vehicles were pulled over and those inside asked for identification.
Chetumal police, along with the National Guard, navy and INM personnel, were part of the Coordinated Mobile Operation that took place on various city streets. While police stopped vehicles, personnel from the National Migration Institute checked the legality of those inside.
The National Institute of Migration (INM) officers were also requesting identification from people inside taxis and public transport units while police verified the vehicle’s paperwork to circulate on city streets.
Chetumal security personnel will continue with the operation to locate stolen vehicles and undocumented people.
