Cancun, Q.R. — An electric guitar filled with cocaine has been seized by federal authorities at the Cancun International Airport.
The discovery of the cocaine-filled guitar occurred when airport officials noticed it weighed more than it should and an x-ray revealed an abnormal interior. The airport’s on site narcotics dog was brought in for assistance. The dog marked the guitar as positive for the presence of narcotics.
The person arrested has only been identified as a Mexican national. Airport officials did not say how much cocaine was found inside the guitar, only that the guitar and its carrier were taken into custody and held for Fiscalía General de la República (FGR).
