Chetumal, Q. R. — At least four people were left with injuries after two semis collided on a highway outside Chetumal. The accident happened Thursday afternoon between two semis and one private pickup truck.
Early reports say the two semis crashed head on when the driver of one semi was attempting to pass a car. While in the other lane, he collided with another oncoming semi.
A white pickup truck following behind was unable to stop in time. The truck ended up partially embedded under the front of one of the semis. Four people were rushed to hospital from the accident scene. Two people from inside the pickup were the most injured.
The National Guard arrived to guard the site until tow trucks were able to remove the three vehicles from the scene.
