First Maya Train locomotives arrive for Section 2

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The first set of locomotives for the Maya Train project have arrived. Fonatur reports the arrival of the cars for the Campeche section of train tracks. The wrapped locomotives arrived Sunday and will be used to assemble tracks along the Escárcega to Calkiní Section 2, which is approximately 235 kilometers long.

In a statement, Fonatur says “this unit will be a key piece in the laying of ballast, placement of sleepers and installation of rails.”

In that same section, Fonatur says “work is progressing on a vehicular underpass at Pomuch, Campeche, where work is also being done on the transverse drainage works that will allow proper rainfall flow.”
