Federal officials rescue endangered birds from private home

Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Federal officials say they have seized numerous endangered birds found captive in a private home.

With personnel support from the Mexican Army as well as the Navy, federal officers inspected a home reported to have endangered birds. Once inside, officers found several macaw parrots as well as peacocks.

The seize was made by La Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) who removed the birds and sealed the premises that was left under guard by Policía Estatal Preventiva.

The owners have been charged with crimes against wildlife. Although the report was released byLa Fiscalía General del Estado, no other details were provided.
