Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A company truck transporting a freezer filled with bagged ice overturned outside Paamul. The accident happened mid-morning when the driver was heading toward the town of Tulum.
Along the way, he is alleged to have dozed at the wheel, swerving his unit off the highway and landing it on its side. Transit authorities arrived to find the badly twisted cargo truck laying in highway brush surrounded by melting bags of ice.
While the driver was not seriously injured, his female passenger was transported to Playa del Carmen hospital with leg injuries.
