Deer rescued from Cozumel swimming pool released

Cozumel, Q.R. — A deer found in a private swimming pool has been recused and released back into the wild. The Municipal Ecology of Cozumel says they rescued and released the whitetail as part of their wildlife rescue program.

The Deputy Director of Ecology, Fernando Pola Rodríguez, said a 911 Emergency call from a citizen reported that the animal had falled into a pool and was unable to get out. Authorities arrived at the home to find the animal stuck in the water.

After pulling it from the pool, the deer underwent an assessment by veterinarian Norma Hernández Bolaños, who said the animal was in good condition and was later released.
