Customs seizes over 16,000 kilos of Benzyl Chloride at Manzanillo sea port

Port of Manzanillo, Colima — A seizure of more than 16,000 kilos of Benzyl Chloride has been made at the Port of Manzanillo. According to the Secretary of the Navy, the seizure was made June 28 inside port facilities.

A total of 16,760 kilos of the chemical used to produce various narcotics was seized in the the state of Colima port by the National Customs Agency. In a statement, the agency reported finding the chemical, which they say, is a chemical precursor, a substance considered essential for the production of Methamphetamine and N-Metalcathinone, and is one used by organized crime groups.
