Cozumel cops book four for possession after reports of armed subjects

Cozumel, Q.R. — Police in Cozumel have jailed four men on possession charges after locating over 100 bags of drugs. In a briefing, Cozumel Police reported that “elements of the Municipal Police and members of the Secretary of the Navy attend to citizen reports of armed subjects in the Félix González neighborhood where, after an operation, four men with different types of narcotics are arrested.”

The men were taken into custody at 11:06 a.m. after receiving a 911 report of the armed men. When officers arrived at the Gregoria Franco Aguilar Street address, “they observed several males in the area, so they approached confirming that they coincided with the characteristics provided,” the police report said.

Upon inspection, police located bags of marijuana, crack cocaine, powdered cocaine and bags of street-ready crystal meth.

Cozumel Police say the four men “were formally detained” and will face charges.
