Colombian in Cancun prison after feds discover cocaine concealed in laptop hardware

Cancun, Q.R. — Federal authorities at the Cancun International Airport have detained a man found carrying cocaine into the country. The man, who is from Colombia, was taken into custody Thursday after police found cocaine concealed inside the hardware of his laptop.

In a statement, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) said elements of the National Guard, stationed at Terminal II of the Cancun International Airport, discovered 604 grams of cocaine hidden inside a laptop.

The man, identified as Christiam M, had arrived in Cancun from Bogotá, Colombia. He was taken into custody and formally charged. A judge has ordered that he remain in a Cancun prison during his trial.
