Colombia cocaine shipment intercepted in Mexico City

Mexico City, Mexico — With assistance from their on site narcotics dog Lilly, Policía Federal Ministerial (PFM) discovered a 256-kilo shipment of cocaine inside the Mexico City International Airport.

Lilly and her handler made the discovery while conducting cargo reviews from a recently landed plane from Bogotá, Colombia. One large shipment labeled as cleaning powder became of particular interest to Lilly, who gave positive indications of an illegal substance.

Once opened, federal agents made the cocaine discovery. In all, 17 12-bottle cases of “cleaning powder”, were seized. The drug shipment, which had arrived from Colombia, was insured and reserved for the corresponding Federal Prosecutor to continue the investigation.
