Cancun, Q.R. — A man who identified himself as an Uber driver was found abandoned with injuries from a BB gun. The incident happened Sunday evening in SM 308 of Cancun when, according to the man, he was attacked.
The driver, Armando “N” of around 50 years of age, said he was traveling along Josefa Ortíz de Domínguez Street in SM 308 when he was intercepted, threatened and shot.
His aggressors then loaded him into his own vehicle and drove him to SM 307 where they abandoned him on a dirt road. They then drove off with his car. He was able to call for help. Responding officers located him laying in a weeded area with wounds from a BB gun. He was taken to hospital by ambulance for medical attention.
A motive for the attack is not known. It is not clear if it was a targeted attack against the man because he is an Uber driver or if his aggressors simply wanted his car.
