Cancun traffic stop gets two arrested with outstanding warrants in Tabasco

Cancun, Q.R. — Two of three people arrested in Cancun Monday were found to have outstanding arrest warrants. The Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) of Quintana Roo reported on their Monday arrests.

The trio were eventually pulled over for excessive speeding along Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue in SM 40. Police requested the vehicle stop, however, the driver sped up which lead to a chase.

Once they were finally stopped on Tikal Avenue, their identification alerted Cancun officers to the outstanding arrest warrants for two of them from the state of Tabasco.

Cancun police have arrested Luis Felipe “N”, Verónica “N” and Luis “N”. They did not identify which two had the outstanding warrants. While a physical inspection did not reveal any illegal items, the arrest warrants, speeding and failing to stop was enough to land them in jail.

Police did comment that all three are suspected of being involved in commercial robberies around Cancun.
