Cozumel, Q.R. — Navy personnel have reported the discovery of 19 bricks of cocaine washed up along a coastal area of Cozumel. The discovery was made by the Fifth Naval Region, who say the drugs have been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Playa de Carmen for the corresponding investigation.
The packages will later be transferred to the FGR’s Indices Warehouse in Cancun where it will eventually be destroyed. Packages such as these, are not uncommon to find washed up along state beaches. Several times a year, bags and bricks of varying drugs are found.
