Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Canadian man wanted by Interpol for murder has been captured in downtown Playa del Carmen. Police said Thursday that Gabriel “N” was arrested on 28th Street North.

According to the SSC (Secretariat of Citizen Security), the Canadian national was considered a high-priority target on Canada’s criminal watch-list and was subject to an extradition warrant for homicide.
“As part of an inter-agency collaboration, personnel from the Interpol Investigation Agency, supported by the Secretariat of the Navy, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Secretariat of Citizen Security’s “Centurión” Group, arrested Gabriel “N,” a Canadian national, on 28 Norte Street in the municipality of Playa del Carmen,” the SSC (Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana) said.
“He was a high-priority target on Canada’s criminal watchlist and was subject to an extradition warrant for homicide.
“Through these actions, the Secretariat of Citizen Security reaffirms its commitment to strengthening coordination among institutions across all three levels of government and contributing to the maintenance of security and order in Quintana Roo.”

Police did not say where in Canada he was wanted, nor did they provide details on the crime he is accused of committing.
