Cozumel, Q.R. — Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office completed an arrest warrant against a Cozumel man on the state’s wanted criminal list. Juan “N” was picked up Wednesday on kidnapping charges from an incident in May of 2022.
According to the State Attorney General (FGE), Juan “N” was on the state of Quintana Roo’s wanted ciminal list. He is accused of kidnapping a man in San Miguel, Cozumel in May of 2022.
The FGE reported that on May 22, 2022, Juan “N” was in the company of three others who were aboard a truck when the saw the victim walking. They used the truck to intercept the man. They got out of the truck, threatened him with a gun and began “hitting him, gagging him and handcuffing him causing various injuries to get him into the vehicle.
“The victim was transferred to a property located in the San Miguel I neighborhood of Cozumel where a woman was there who helped to put him in a room where the four subjects continued to attack him.
“Shortly after they left him alone, he managed to escape to request help at the State Attorney General’s Office.”
The FGE pointed out that Juan “N” is one of several on their criminal wanted list which includes other people wanted for crimes such as homicide, extortion and kidnapping.
