Cancun, Q.R. — A pair of armed men robbed a Cancun combi driver before also stripping its passenger of valued belongings. The incident happened around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday on a public transport van along López Portillo Avenue.
The two men boarded the TTE van as passengers when it stopped for them in SM 105. Once on board, they proceeded to rob the driver and its only passenger at the time. When the van’s driver stopped at a red light, the passenger is reported to have jumped out.
A block ahead at another intersection, the driver also bailed and called for help. The two armed men left inside the van drove it a short distance before abandoning it in a right lane.
Police located the empty van. There were no injuries or arrests reported.
