Amacuzac, Morelos — Another mine collapse in Mexico has claimed lives. On Wednesday, a landslide in the sand pit mine of the Amacuzac Mine left two miners dead.
On December 21, a group of 10 miners were working in the Amacuzac Mine when approximately 80 cubic meters of it collapsed. According to a press release, the State Coordination of Civil Protection of the State of Morelos reported that the first body was located at 4:10 p.m. and the second recovered at 11:40 later that night.
In August, the collapse of mine in Sabinas, Coahuila, left 10 Mexican workers underground inside the flooded mine. Their bodies have never been recovered.
