42 mobile medical units travel Quintana Roo to provide services for those in need

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Nearly 6,000 medical services have already been provided around the state of Quintana Roo for those in need. The Secretary of Health, Flavio Carlos Rosado, reported that during the “Health for Everyone” campaign from April 12 to 19, 5,996 medical services were provided to residents of Chumpón, Candelaria, Mahogany, Nicolás Bravo, Señor, Tihosuco and Cobá.

Flavio Carlos Rosado said that one of the main objectives of these mobile services is to increase the quantity and quality of medical care services for Quintana Roo citizens that are in need.

The mobile medical services also seeks to promote disease prevention actions and thereby contribute to reducing the demand for services in the hospitals of Quintana Roo.

A total of 42 mobile medcical units were set up in four southern municipalities during its first week. Rosado said the units provided patients with comprehensive consultations, clinical laboratory studies, mammograms, X-rays, densitometry studies, electrocardiograms, obstetric and pelvic ultrasounds, dental and psychological health care, nutritional guidance, pharmacy, pediculosis and haircuts, health promotion, disease prevention, and hearing and vision exams.

The mobile units include disease detection and diagnostic support, medical supplies (basic and general medicines, human resources to provide services, state-of-the-art medical, laboratory and cabinet equipment).

Next on the list are residents in the communities of Rojo Gómez, Otilio Montaño, Altos de Sevilla, Miguel Hidalgo, Pantera and Mahahual.

He added that the mobile medical unit will also attend to residents of Solferino, Kantunilkín, Ignacio Zaragoza, Leona Vicario, Cancún (Tres Reyes Avante and Villas Otoch), Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos, along with Sabán, Chunhuhub, Nuevo Israel and Uh May.
