Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A highway shooting Friday afternoon in the municipality of Puerto Morelos has left one man dead. The attack took place moments after the targeted driver left a hotel.
The male driver of the black SUV had begun traveling the federal highway when subjects from another vehicle began shooting. At least one bullet penetrated the driver’s side window. Seven bullet holes were counted on the passenger’s side window.
The black SUV was found on the highway central median. Authorities from both Cancun and Puerto Morelos responded to the broad daylight attack. Paramedics confirmed the male driver was dead at the scene.
According to witness motorists, the second vehicle was waiting for the SUV along the highway. As soon as the SUV left the hotel property and began traveling the federal road, they opened fire.
