Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — State police were successful in capturing an alleged criminal cell on the outskirts of Playa del Carmen with the arrest of 12.
Police say in that group was the cell’s leader. The group were captured during a police operation in an irregular settlement on the outskirts of the city. Police report those arrested are allegedly part of the Pelones criminal group, and were taken into custody after being trapped at their base in an invasion on the south side of the city.
Upon their detainment, police confiscated drugs, weapons, tools, tactical equipment and radios.
The detainees were identified as Jesús Guadalupe G., 23, Jorge Alberto G., 37, Bernardo Enrique C., 42, Karime C., 27, Gabriel G., 33, Ingrid H., 24 , José Luis G., 27, Estefanía C., 21, Jorge V., 20, Oswaldo C., 39; Juan Carlos L., 28 and Leonardo C., 32.
The detainees and their insured items were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities.
