Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A burning car outside the area of Paamul was reported to emergency services Friday. Passing motorists saw the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The car was reported abandoned on the roadway around 20 kilometers south of Playa del Carmen.
Riviera Maya highway motorists made the emergency call Friday afternoon. The vehicle was located on the southern-facing shoulder of the highway. Municipal authorities arrived to verify there was no one inside the burning car.
Solidaridad firemen were able to extinguish flames. The car was a complete write off. A tow truck was brought in to remove what was left of the vehicle.
