Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An employee of a Riviera Maya hotel was killed Thursday during a physical altercation. The fight took place on the beach area of the hotel during the morning hours.
According to preliminary information, the male hotel employee was involved in an argument that lead to the phyical altercation. Staff found the man laying unconscious in the sand at which time 911 was notified.
On site lifeguards reportedly tried to help the hotel worker, however, when paramedics arrived, they pronounced him dead at the scene.
The incident happened Thursday morning between the worker and two other men. It is not known if the others involved were also hotel employees or hotel guests. The deceased Riviera Maya hotel worker has been identified as Raúl “N”.
