José María Morelos, Q.R. — The Public Security Department of José María Morelos is preparing for a major advancement in urban monitoring. The municipality is readying for the upcoming installation of 22 additional video surveillance cameras.
Vicente Pech, the Director of Public Security, says currently, the town operates with only four cameras located at strategic points in the center of the town of José María Morelos.
Pech says the project to install aiddional surveillance cameras will significantly strengthen security in the area.
“We are waiting for 22 cameras. With them we will reach more than 50 percent coverage in the town, which will allow us to improve surveillance. Right now we only have four which are located on the main avenues,” he said.
The cameras already installed have proven their effectiveness in various contexts. According to the official, they have been key to clarifying traffic accidents and have also served as a tool in investigations carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office.
The expansion of the video surveillance system promises not only to increase the peace of mind of residents, but also to consolidate more robust technical support for authorities in cases of emergency or crime.
With the implementation of these new cameras, Public Security aims for a safer José María Morelos, better prepared to face the challenges of surveillance and justice, Pech added.
