José María Morelos, Q.R. — A rolled fuel truck transporting 42,000 liters of gasoline kept a José María Morelos highway shut Friday. Emergency personnel were at the scene of the rolled tanker more than 12 hours dousing it while industrial tow trucks righted it back into position.

The accident was reported shortly after 10:00 p.m. Friday night by motorists who stopped to help the driver. The operator of the fuel truck was able to exit the cab on his own and without injuries.
Civil Protection firemen and National Guard were at the scene overnight waiting out the darkness to be able to evaluate the situation as well as protecting the fuel from potential looters. At the arrival of light, personnel began the task of assessing the condition of the vehicle.
The SPARTAN M-1 fire truck left with a team for the operation. The area was secured and under the protection of the National Guard for the transfer and recovery of the fuel.

The operation finished shortly after noon Saturday without incident at which time traffic along the single lane federal highway was finally restored. Authorities did not speculate on what caused the driver to roll his truck.
