Cancun Transit issues dozens of tickets for hotel zone parking violations

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Transit removed dozens of license plates and towed illegally parked vehicles from the hotel zone. The large transit operation was carried out along all 28 kilometers of Kukulcán Boulevard Wednesday.

License plates were removed from vehicles parked in no parking areas.

The Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit of Benito Juárez carried out the Cancun Hotel Zone locating of vehicles parked in prohibited places. According to Cancun Police, 67 tickets were issued to bad drivers.

“We rescued the sidewalks on Kukulcán Boulevard. In compliance with Article 120 of the Traffic Regulations, the Cancun Police conducted an operation in the hotel zone during which 67 violations were issued. In addition, 16 motorcycles and six cars were impounded. Respecting the sidewalks means respecting pedestrians!”

Of those issued, 56 tickets were issued for parking on sidewalks, red line zones, continuous traffic lanes, curves, ramps and spaces with restrictive signs. Nine vehicles, 14 motorcycles and 33 license plates were removed.

The operation was carried out in accordance with Article 120 of the Benito Juárez Traffic Regulations which prohibits parking in areas that obstruct pedestrians or endangers road traffic.
