Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The front seat passenger of a private vehicle was killed Saturday in a head on collision. The car he was traveling in slammed head-on into the base of the town’s only overpass.
It is not clear exactly how the driver of the car crashed into the concrete pillar. Puerto Morelos police were at the accident scene around 5:00 a.m. in response to the single-vehicle accident.
According to reports, the driver was traveling south along the federal highway at excessive speed when the accident occurred. The driver of the car was transferred to hospital in Cancun. His passenger was ejected from the car during the impact and found dead at the scene.
