Sergio Ortega, the Director of Openings at Soriana, explained that the new store required an investment of more than 550 million pesos and generated 550 direct and indirect jobs.

“It is a very important job for all the construction collaborators who in an average of six months managed to build this store. As you can see today, it is completely finished,” said Ortega.

With a workforce of more than 250 employees, the Soriana Híper supermarket stands out not only for its ability to supply local demand, but also for its innovative online shopping service with the option of home delivery, he added.

The first stone for the new store was laid in March during its initial announcement. Official construction took only six months. The opening of Soriana Híper in Tulum represents a boost to the local economy and an improvement in the commercial infrastructure.
