Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A traffic accident early Thursday morning on Playa del Carmen Boulevard left a driver dead. Paramedics responding the accident near the intersection of 28 de Julio Avenue rushed the driver to hospital where he died.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred around 5:00 a.m. when the driver of a compact Chevy was traveling the highway. Witnesses reported that the male driver ran a red light at which time he lost control of the car and hit an industrial vehicle.
The man was rescued alive and rushed to hospital where he died shortly after being admitted.
The area around the accident site was closed for several hours by Municipal Traffic officers who conducted the corresponding investigation.
