Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Elements of the Navy of Mexico carried out the medical evacuation of a crew member from a cargo ship located approximately 7 nautical miles (13 kilometres) northeast of Isla Mujeres.
Vessel Antoine requested the emergency medical evacuation of one of its crew members. Elements of the navy headed out to sea where they met Antoine and made the transfer of a 23-year-old male, who was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury.
He was evacuated from the cargo ship and transferred to the pier of the Naval Station of Puerto Juárez where he was further tranferred by ambulance to a hospital in Cancun.
