Cancun, Q.R. — Three people were reported hurt Monday after a Cancun city bus drove onto a public sidewalk. On Monday afternoon, the driver of the bus drove his unit onto a sidewalk along Kukulcán Boulevard.
One bus passenger and two pedestrians waiting at the bus stop were taken to hospital for medical attention. Reports say the driver of the bus was attempting to pull over when he lost control and ended up on the sidewalk but not before hitting a parked vehicle.
Cancun Transit and city medical personnel were called to the scene of the 2:30 p.m. accident where they found three people had been hurt due to the mishap.
It is not clear why the driver ended up on the sidewalk or what caused him to lose control of the bus.
