Cozumel, Q.R. — Three people were detained by the National Guard after a canine located drugs in their luggage. According to a statement by the FGE, Michael A, André J and Brenda P were arrested for drug-related crimes.
The trio were taken into custody when elements of the navy and National Guard were performing routine surveillance and inspections at the Cozumel ferry dock. The handler of a narcotics dog stopped the trio for the inspection after the dog marked the luggage as positive.
Inside, authorities found six bags of narcotics. All three were transferred to the Public Ministry for processing.
